Been wanting a new professional headshot? Join us at FotoLab to get a professional headshot taken, mingle with kickass AAPI peers, and learn how to cultivate a career you love! We welcome all AAPI women and non-binary professionals, creatives, entrepreneurs, and allies.

Headshots will be taken throughout the night (first come first serve) with a 30-min intermission at 7pm for our phenomenal guest speakers to share their personal stories and best practices for navigating the professional world in the U.S. and career development as AAPI womxn.

Speakers:
Lizzie Korsgaard, Career Coach
After leaving her thriving corporate career, Lizzie Korsgaard embarked on a journey of self-discovery and entrepreneurship. Initially starting out as a personal brand photographer, she eventually discovered her passion as a career coach. She is on a mission to help people gain clarity on your career aspirations, strengthen their personal brand, and confidently build an exciting career that’s right for them. Whether they’re looking to make a career change, start their own business, or simply find greater fulfillment in their current job, she encourages everyone to start by downloading her free guide, the D.E.S.I.R.E. Path to a Meaningful Career.

Joy Zhu, Ad Sales at Google, AIA Board Member
Born and raised in Shanghai, China, Joy moved to New York at 11 years old. She has since built a highly successful career in advertising, and done media planning & buying everywhere from the Big 6 to independent agencies, publishers, and iconic fashion brands like Calvin Klein. Joy also led ad tech sales at Amazon & Instacart. In 2022, Joy Zhu joined Google’s GMP (Google Marketing Platform) team to help enable marketers to strategize their digital transformation journey via data & technology.

Over the course of her 15+ year career, Joy has become very passionate about DEI in the workplace. She not only co-founded the Asians@ ERG at Instacart in 2021, but continues to elevate faces and voices in the community by supporting Asians@ communities at Google and serving as a partnerships-focused board member at Asians in Advertising. Joy currently resides in Long Island City, Queens with her husband and baby daughter.

Samantha Choi Cadley, founder & CEO of Manual Labor
Born in Seoul, Korea, Sam immigrated to the US with her family at the age of 4. As they assimilated into life in New York, consuming products like Wonder Bread and Kraft cheese became symbols of what it meant to be an American. She may not have known it then, but this was her first experience around the power of a brand.

After spending decades working at Ralph Lauren and Gap, in 2012 Sam founded creative and marketing agency Manual Labor. With a mission to “Do Great Work with Good People,” Sam and her team help companies unlock their brand value, identify why they exist, and build the right customer experiences. This entrepreneurial spirit has allowed Sam to build a company rooted in diverse backgrounds and ideas that shapes the company now and in the future.

Moderator
Margaret Wang, MDU Broadband Solutions at Andrena, NAAAP NY Director of Marketing & Communications
As a Sales and Strategic Communications professional who has traversed education, real estate, telecoms, and utilities industries, Margaret is most energized by building and nurturing impactful relationships, and continuously exploring the psychology of sales and consumerism.

In recent roles such as Director of Growth for a multinational team at a SaaS startup, Margaret was more inspired than ever to connect more deeply with her AAPI professional community, with the hope that she can help further diversify environments around her.

Also a Reiki practitioner, a freelance writer, and an avid adventurer, Margaret enjoys balancing her professional ambitions with creativity, holistic wellness, and an expansive perspective when navigating her life path forward.
