NAAAP New York Scholarships for 2024
The NAAAP New York Scholarships for 2024 have launched! The deadline for both scholarships is April 5, 2024. Finalists will be notified in mid April for interviews.
Leadership Scholarship
Description
The leadership scholarship aims to identify and award a scholarship package to college-bound Asian/Pacific Islander high school students in New York exhibiting outstanding leadership potential. Ideal candidates will possess a combination of leadership achievements within their community, a passion for making a difference, academic achievement, and a connection to their Asian/Pacific Islander heritage.
Award Package
- $2,000 cash prize.
- 1 hour mentorship/career session with a NAAAP NY leader of your choice.
- Gift card to an Asian-owned business.
- Free resume review.
- Free 2-year NAAAP NY student membership.
Project Grant
Description
The project grant aims to identify individuals who have an idea, business plan, community engagement initiative, or social justice project that benefits the Asian/Pacific Islander community. This grant is for anyone who wants to pursue a project or initiative that will positively impact the Asian/Pacific Islander community.
Award Package

- 1 hour mentorship/career session with a NAAAP NY leader of your choice.
- Gift card to an Asian-owned business.
- Free resume review.
- Free 2-year NAAAP NY standard membership.
Why become a sponsor or donor?
- College affordability is a huge problem. Asian American college students have highest amount of average unmet financial need* across income levels and school types.
- Some Asian American groups are underrepresented in higher education. Southeast Asian Americans and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islanders are more likely to live below the U.S. median household income and less likely to attend college.
- College is often the first step to a financially secure future. Completion of a bachelor’s degree pays dividends over a person’s lifetime.
