2024 Highlights

We navigated a brand new year together on a rewarding evening and carved new paths together. With our peers, new friends and old, industry veterans and leaders across various spaces, community members exchanged ideas and insights into leveling up our careers and our mindsets.

In 2024, Women in NAAAP hosted a series of empowering events designed to uplift Asian female leaders and professionals. From tackling challenges like the bamboo ceiling and imposter syndrome in Cultural Barriers and Advancing In Your Career, to celebrating Women’s History Month with Empowering Leadership, a wellness series focused on intuition and mental well-being, these events offered actionable strategies and meaningful connections. Additionally, our NAAAP in Literature Book Club spotlighted powerful narratives, starting with Vanessa Chan’s The Storm We Made, fostering engaging discussions on identity, heritage, and resilience. Join us in 2025 to grow, connect, and celebrate the strength of Asian women in leadership, wellness, and storytelling!

Over 250 guests joined us for an unforgettable evening at Forging Unity: Celebrating the Deep Roots of Our Collective Past, a community celebration in honor of AAPI Heritage Month. Held on May 2024 at the Japan Society, the event was a vibrant celebration of AAPI culture, heritage, and leadership, bringing together professionals from diverse backgrounds to network, connect, and honor our shared history.

Highlights of the evening included an inspiring keynote by Emmy-award-winning journalist Nydia Han, electrifying performances by EDM violinist Yut Chia, and a delicious spread of international cuisine from local Asian vendors like Wu's Wonton King. Guests enjoyed curated beverages from Lunar and Hana MakGeolli, henna tattoos, and an AAPI pop-up market featuring brands like Cera Sine Cera and UsTwoTea. The event also featured cultural tabling, raffles, giveaways, and a community giveback initiative supporting such as Heart of Dinner.

NAAAP Pride NY gave Pride Month a vibrant sendoff with Rainbows in Bloom: Live Flower Arranging Class! Inspired by the colors of the rainbow flag, attendees gathered to create their own stunning bouquets under the guidance of flower arranging expert Aika. From selecting the perfect blooms to mastering techniques for vibrant, long-lasting arrangements, the event was a celebration of creativity, community, and Pride.

Hundreds of leaders across all NAAAP chapters joined in Houston for NAAAP’s 37th annual Leadership Convention, Future Forward: Leading Into The Unknown. With captivating keynotes, thought-provoking sessions, and eight powerful tracks—attendees left inspired to navigate the unknown and lead with courage.

NAAAP NY and Lunar Seltzer co-founder Sean Ro hosted an inspiring Fireside Chat at Prime Produce NYC, where attendees gained valuable insights into Lunar’s entrepreneurial journey, challenges, and advice for aspiring founders, followed by a refreshing seltzer tasting and networking.

Bank of America’s Asian Leadership Network and NAAAP NY hosted an insightful in-person event featuring an A.I. expert keynote and a panel of AAPI leaders, offering actionable strategies to navigate industry shifts, acquire essential skills, and thrive in an A.I.-driven job market.

Over hundreds of leaders celebrated a vibrant Diwali, lighting up the night with cultural performances, henna tattoos, and lively dancing. Attendees enjoyed South Asian cuisine, insightful executive panels, and festive networking, making it a truly memorable evening of tradition and connection.
